Latvala expecting to enjoy his week-end
''Portugal should be really good''
Presently ninth in the championship standings with six points to his credit, Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Team driver Jari-Matti Latvala is looking forward to riding his Ford Focus over unknown terrain.

"Portugal should be really good
because it is a new event just like Norway" delcares the Finn, obviously enthused about making the trip. Latvala is not only anticipating the learning possibilities, but also the point-earning possibilities. "What I want there of course is to get through the rally and get the experience. Also though, I want to fight for a place in the top six."

Racing on the unknown corners and bends of the Portuguese stages will be a good thing, points out the Stobart driver. "I think it will make things easier because we start at the same level, unlike the events that have been in the championship a long time," Jari-Matti explains.
"It is then maybe not so difficult to get closer to the top guys and to fight for the better positions. Nobody has any experience of Portugal and so what matters is how you drive there."

Not to mention the other opportunity Rally Portugal will offer him. "Also on day one I will have quite a good starting position so there is a chance to set good stage times,"concludes Latvala.
