A public invitationEver wondered what happens behind the scenes at the Subaru World Rally Team's base in Banbury, Oxfordshire?
If so, mark July 14/15 in your diary, because on that weekend the team is throwing open its doors to offer rally fans an in-depth look at
the workings of one of the sport's most successful operations.
All the workshops will be open so that visitors can see how the World Rally Car engines, gearboxes and electrical systems are made, how the Subaru Imprezas are finally assembled and how the hundreds of complex parts for each car are manufactured.
The team will also set up its service park in the grounds as it does on the World Rally Championship.
The technicians will demonstrate how it services Petter Solberg's WRC2007 and some classic
Subaru rally cars will be on display, including Imprezas previously driven by stars like Colin McRae and Richard Burns.
There will be food available and entertainment for all ages. There are a limited number of tickets for each day. The price is £12 for adults and £6 for children 16 and under (under 5s are free) and all proceeds go to the Oxford Children's Hospital.
Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.prodrive.com and clicking on the ‘open day' link.
