After his retirement in Rally NorwayAfter his retirement in Rally Norway this weekend, Thomas Schie looks forward to the next round in the Norwegian Rally Championship, Numedalsrally 3rd of March.
”This was not our weekend. When I woke up Friday morning I had fever
and felt bad. And already on the opening stage of the rally we went off the road and lost about 13 minutes before we could get the car on the road again. We needed help from about 40 spectators to get the car back on the road, says Thomas Schie. On stage three the gearbox in his Ford Focus WRC gave him trouble, and later he had to retire due to this problem.
“It was a big disappointment to retire from the first ever World Rally in Norway.
We got some very good help from M-Sport to sort out the engine problem from Swedish Rally, and everything looked very good before the start in Hamar. But this how the sport is, and we have to look forward and be focused on the next rally, says Thomas Schie.
He is 2nd in the Norwegian Championship behind Mads Řstberg after two rounds, and the third round, Numedalsrally, take place on 3rd of March.
Thomas Schie will also do the WRC rounds in Germany, Spain and Wales later this year.
