Good preparation for the Norwegian RallyPetter Solberg seemed to be in firm command of his Subaru Impreza WRC as he battled to maintain what was a potential podium position. Sadly for the Norwegian his rally effectively came to an end when he went off on the long tenth
special stage, losing 14 minutes in the process.
"I had some understeer this morning and should have just backed-off a little bit and not pushed to the limit, but I didn't, I made a mistake and that's it,” he admitted. “Looking back, of course I should have come off the pace and tried to learn some more, but it's difficult, you know?”
“The car's absolutely fine,” he continued. “Sweden's not a bad place to test for the next rally in Norway, so although it's hard we have to push on and see what we can do.
"
With Solberg now in test mode, fellow Subaru driver Chris Atkinson is left with the challenge of scoring as many points as he can for the team as he looks to move up from his current eighth position.
"It's okay out there, no real problems,” the Australian stated. “We were a bit slow on the first one, in some places we could have been faster, but our time was okay. I took it quite easy in the long one because the traction and grip were not so good.”
“Even though we're being careful we're still going at a fair pace, and in these conditions you've got to stay absolutely sharp."
