Teiskonen on course to score WRC points, in Australia
Australia : Syms Racing Team Subaru / PCWRC - Leg 2
Aki Teiskonen rose from fourth place to third in the PCWRC series of Rally Australia. During the day he passed Toshi Arai, Mirco Baldacci and Dean Herridge, all three drivers who were ahead him, but Jari-Matti Latvala and
Marcos Ligato were even faster than Teiskonen and passed him on the first two stages of the day.

Before the last day of the rally Teiskonen is 49 seconds behind the leader Marcos Ligato and 21 seconds behind Jari-Matti Latvala.

“Arai was forced to retire on the afternoon, and I passed Herridge and Baldacci by driving. In the afternoon we made wrong tyre choices. We expected heavy rain, but it was only drizzling,” explained Teiskonen.

“But that's no excuse. We also had some minor problems. Luckily there more than 100 kilometres left.
Tomorrow I'll have to step on it and pass at least Latvala,” added Teiskonen.

At the same time he will keep last year's events in mind. That time he drove off the road on the last day of Rally Australia while in second place of the rally.

“I got keep my head cool not to do that kind of mistake again. Now I've got a hold on one point in the ‘big boys' series. That would be a new achievement for me,” concluded Teiskonen.
