Australia : Kronos Citroen WRT - Shakedown
As it was the case in Japan, the shakedown uses the super special stage of ‘Perth City' taking place in Gloucester Park's horse track. The usual time on Thursday morning has been changed to Wednesday night from 19:00 to 22:00. The
organisers probably wanted to gather a few spectators to watch the test session.
It can be said the ‘shakedown' is representative of not less than six stages, as ‘Perth City super special' will be contested six times in between tomorrow night (Thursday) and Saturday night. But it is important to underline that this session is rather meant to check that everything is fine onboard of the car than being an actual ‘shakedown'.
The Kronos Total Citroën WRT's Xsaras started for a pair of laps, covering twice four kilometres. Coincidence : Xevi and Dani both stalled their engines on their first start.
The rest of their session was problem-free and the Xsaras were once more carefully checked by the mechanics once back to service.
Dani began with a cautious first passage and increased the pace on the second one. Xevi did the same as his team-mate after covering four more kilometres. The two Spanish drivers drove back to service and next step is for tomorrow night and two competitive passes in the super special stage as a ‘starter' for the fist leg on Friday.
