Change of plans for Bengue and Vovos
Rally of Turkey, 13th round of World Rally Championship and also the penultimate event for Turkish Rally Championship, will be the one to remember as it appears to be the last time we welcome WRC teams in Antalya. More details will be
available after the World Motorsport Council meeting on 18th of October.
For the first time, TOSFED will organise WRC in the Holy Month of Islam, Ramadan, so the start show for Rally of Turkey will be including some special and traditional Ramadan amusements and Turkish flavours.
Alexandre Bengue to skip Turkey
Frenchman Alexander Bengue has revised his gravel programme for 2006 and it looks like he won't be participating in Rally of Turkey, but concentrating on Rally GB.
Bengue is keen to do at least one gravel event this year in a Atolye Kazaz run Subaru Impreza S11 WRC or a better program in 2007 with the help of Atolye Kazaz already cooperating for business to business deals with Bengue's supporters.
Armodios Vovos withdraws from Turkish event
Armodios Vovos and co-driver "EL-EM" had put their entry for Rally of Turkey, with a Atolye Kazaz run Subaru Impreza S11 WRC.
The Greek pair were eager to start their second event with the S11 but unfortunately due to business commitments, Mr. Vovos won't be able to compete in Rally of Turkey.
