Finland : Atolye Kazaz - PreviewKristian Sohlberg will be driving Atolye Kazaz run Subaru Impreza S11 WRC for the second time in Finland as Risto Pietiläinen joins him for the tenth round of World Rally Championship.
After a sensational sixth place in Rally d'Italia
Sardegna, Kristian Sohlberg waited patiently almost for three months to be back in his Team Red Devil Atolye Kazaz branded Subaru Impreza S11 WRCar.
Subaru and Pirelli combination worked pretty well bringing three points to Team Red Devil Atolye Kazaz in Italy, as a following to this result team will be having new compound Pirelli tyres for Finland.
As the latest news, Harri Rovanperä's long term co-driver Risto Pietiläinen will be joining Sohlberg for Neste Oil Rally Finland. Sohlberg – Pietiläinen pair entered this month's Pirelli Tampere Rally, their first event together, as a test before their home event, to set up the pace note system. The team will be having a one day test in Joutsa prior to the event.
Kristian Sohlberg
“Our expectations are great as this is my home event. I'm full of confidence with my driving. The result in Sardinia was good, but the gap was way too big. I want to try and finish at least in the same place but with a small gap to the leaders. I know I can do it, as long as I can get 100 percent out of the car and I don't make any mistakes."
"We are going to try few things with setup and try to get some more top speed from the car.
Also Pirelli have brought a totally new tyre for the rally, and it will be very interesting to see how it works! I'm driving again with a different co-driver, but with a very professional and experienced one, Risto Pietilainen. We did Pirelli Tampere Rally with a Fiesta ST, and won our class very comfortably and our relationship worked really well. I am very happy with everything and really looking forward to the start of the rally. I want to show how good and reliable I am.”
Ercan Kazaz, Team Director
“It is good to be back in the WRC environment after a two month hold. Our team is getting more and more experienced in the WRC field. We believe Subaru Impreza is a very good package but we still have to prove the product to the potential costumers who are aiming high places in WRC. The support of Pirelli to our team is really an important benefit for this rally. I am confident that Kristian can be a dark horse in Finland. I hope we can get the necessary exposure to our main sponsor Red Devil energy drink to help them with their marketing needs."
