At the upcoming Rally Deutschland
The organisers look forward to the OMV Rally Deutschland (10 to 13 August 2006), the German WRC event, and they are well-prepared.
Wayover 3,000 ADAC helpers, police officers from the Rhineland-Palatinate and theSaarland, as well as spectator
marshals and couriers will congregate on the Trier /Baumholder / St. Wendel area. The course over exactly 1,288 km with 19 decisivespecial stages is set and 83 spectator areas are in the process of being marked offand signposted.
The “key” to the event is a € 58.00 Super Ticket. With one of the tickets, fans can watch the most exciting stages – throughout the weekend and in the best spots right off the stages – in a unique atmosphere.
A Super Ticket includes access to all special stages in Germany's only WRC event including the St. Wendel SuperSpecial, plus access to the service area. Specially included are a high-quality textile “OMV ADAC Rallye” lanyard, a spectator map containing all important information on the 2006 Rally Deutschland and an “OMV ADAC Rallye 2006” sticker.
Fans who really want to know it all will be able to catch a glimpse of their rally stars during the official recce tours (Tuesday, 8 Aug. from 9:00 to 19:45 hours and Wednesday, 9 Aug. from 8:00 to 16:00 hours) and check out the WRC cars at the central service area near lake Bostal which will be up and running from Tuesday, 8 August.
The first crowds are expected for the shake-down also near lake Bostal (Thursday, 10 Aug. from 8:00 to 15:00 hours), when teams will be able to test last-minute adjustments at rally speed.
The rally will officially be opened on Thursday, 10 August from 20:00 hours with the ceremonial start at the Porta Nigra in the old town of Trier. And from Friday through Sunday it will be racing against the clock for three days.
Over 200,000 spectators are expected to line the special stages in the Moselle vineyards (Friday, 11 Aug.), on the Baumholder tank range (Saturday, 12 Aug.) and the Saarland black top sections (Sunday, 13 Aug.).
After each day's sporting events it will be time for some fun and entertainment. At the Brewers' Fest in Trier's “Viehmarkt” square or the Baumholder Old Town Fest, not only fans will have occasion to swap rally experiences and/or plain old car talk.
