With Gronholm and Hirvonen
The Ford World Rally Team is preparing for the next round of the World Championship – Rally Deutschland (11-13 August) – with a four-day test in Germany.
The team tested on asphalt roads, two days at the Baumholder military base and another
two days in the vineyard area. Marcus Gronholm
and Mikko Hirvonen were on duty, driving one day each at both locations.
"We found a good set-up for the car," explained Hirvonen to World Rally Radio. "I did 350km and Marcus did just over 400 and the Focus feels pretty good. I think we can challenge for a good position on the rally."
As for Rally Deutschland, Hirvonen is hoping for a dry race, although rain is often part of the German event.
"If it rains, it's one of the rallies I really don't enjoy," admitted the Finn. "In the dry, it's not so bad but when it rains, it changes so much and becomes very difficult. And I think it's rained at some point every year that we've been there."
