Considering a switch to the newest Focus
Luis Perez Companc tested the Ford Focus WRC06 last week in Great Britain. The Argentine driver is considering a switch to the newest version of the Focus for the second half of the season.
With his co-driver Jose Maria Volta,
Companc completed around 200 km of testing in Cockermouth, not far from the M-Sport headquarters.
"In the beginning I understood that driving the WRC06 was similar to the WRC05 and that especially the set up was easier than that of the WRC05 because of having only one electronic differential," said Companc. "My surprise arrived at the moment of the test, the team let me know that I should change my driving style because the car had a very different engine, suspension and gearbox from the previous model."
Companc also confirmed his participation to the following WRC events: Rally Japan, Cyprus Rally, Rally Australia, and Rally New Zealand.
"For me the most important thing in this first half of the year was to arrive to the end on all the rallies I participate in," explained Companc. My objective for the four rallies that I will contest in the rest of 2006 is to get to know more the Focus WRC06 and keep adding kilometres which is what brings me more experience.
