Adjusting to Catalunya asphalt
Catalunya : After SS 2 - Quotes
The crews returned to the service area after completing the first two stages this morning. We get some comments from the drivers after SS2.

Marcus Gronholm (Ford)
“Everything works out; I'm very happy.”

Mikko Hirvonen (Ford)

“Our tyres are too soft.”

Sebastien Loeb (Xsara)
“I lost the brake efficiency. I bleed the brakes in between the two stages and it was better on the second stage without however being perfect. We'll sort this out at service. Our tyres worked well on an abrasive road surface.”

Dani Sordo (Xsara)
“On stage 1, we suffered from under-steering and it happened again on stage 2. The team will change a few things and it will be Ok. I will try to continue on the same pace.”

Xavier Pons (Xsara)
“The fight promises to be very tight. I think we did ok in the stage afterwards, the car is balanced and I feel confident with it.”

Petter Solberg (Impreza)
“I'm quite happy actually. The car feels good and we have improved many things. We lost maybe seven seconds towards the end of the first stage as it was hard on the brakes and they seemed to go off, however seemed fine by the next stage. There was a puncture on the first stage too, although the mousse worked well and I don't think we lost any time.
We'll be making some small changes to the geometry in service, but overall, it's going in the right direction.”

Stephane Sarrazin (Impreza)
“It was difficult this morning as I went for a setup that was quite conservative as I wanted no mistakes at the start of the rally. In the end conditions were much warmer than I thought and I found the car was too soft and so I did not have enough confidence. The tyres are ok, however we'll be making some setup changes to the car for the next stages and then we'll see what we can do.”

Chris Atkinson (Impreza)
“I'm very satisfied as we had a good morning. The car was working well, however we took a softer tyre that went off towards the end of the first stage. I'm pleased with how we are doing against our team-mates as they are the best measure for us. We may make a couple of small changes to the car, but nothing dramatic.”

Francois Duval (Fabia)
“I have problems with the brakes, so it's difficult to drive.”

Gilles Panizzi (Fabia)
“The set up should be improved, as the car shakes too much.”

Matthew Wilson (Focus)
“I have problems with the notes.”
