It is time for the 9th event of the 2010 season, Rally Germany. The Petter Solberg World Rally Team is already based in Trier, the oldest city in Germany. 19 asphalt stages and 400 competitive kilometres are awaiting the 80 crews that are nominated for this rally. 400kms of Special
stages makes this rally one of the longest on the calendar, and it also includes one of the longest stages; Arena Panzerplatte which is 48 kms. Panzerplatte is driven twice on Saturday, as SS10 and SS14. A remote service in Birkenfeld is scheduled ahead of each run.
- With our great result in Bulgaria still in the back of my head, I can assure you that my motivation for a podium could not be any stronger, says Peter Solberg
. - We had a good test yesterday, with heavy rain, and now got good set ups for both wet and dry conditions. But even though I am ready to go for a big fight here in Germany, I will always have the greatest respect for the stages, after our accident here in 2004. No risks!
Rally Germany gets underway with a ceremonial start in Porta Nigra Thursday evening. On Friday there are 6 stages, Saturday 8 and Sunday 5 stages. Servicepark is located at Messepark in Trier.
