With an upgraded car
Petter Solberg and his privateer team will participate in Rally Sardinia, the sixth round of this year's World Rally Championship, with an updated version of his Xsara WRC.
Upgrades have been integrated into the Citroen in order to bring the early
2000's car up to 2006 specifications, making it better fitted for the tough conditions found on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
"I am very pleased with the cooperation with Citroen, and I think that this upgrade gives us a more competitive car," Solberg said.
"We will do this rally now, and then see how it goes before we decide anything regarding the future," he added.
"This season has been unbelievable, and together with my fantastic team I think we have only seen the start of it!"
Sardinia will be the mid-point of the season's 12-event calendar and takes place from May 22nd to 24th.
Solberg has so far completed four events and currently stands 5th overall in the 2009 championship.
