JWRC: Equipe de France FFSA Rally Mexico leg two summary
A masterful drive from Sebastien Ogier

The second day of the 2008 Rally Mexico saw Sebastien Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia continue to dominate the FIA Junior World Championship standings thanks to another remarkably mature run. The Equipe de France FFSA
crew came through the day's challenging stages totally unscathed to extend their lead with their red, white and blue Citroen C2 Super 1600 which is eighth overall this evening.

After scoring seven fastest times from a possible eight on Friday, the 24-year old Frenchman knew that the profile of today's stages would be very different: "With a total competitive distance of 157.32km; today always promised to be very tough," said Sebastien. "We opted for a quick pace with a little bit of a safety margin and the tactic paid off." After starting the second leg with a lead of 38.2s over his closest chaser, the young Citroen driver succeeded in extending his advantage at the top to 1m 19.2s by the end of the morning's loop.

In the heat of the afternoon, the Equipe de France FFSA-backed crew continued to control intelligently from in front. Sticking to their plan, Sebastien and Julien concluded their second day of world class competition with a lead of 1m 32.1s. "It's something of a new situation for us having to defend our position. That's the sort of experience you need to score a good result in the Junior championship. It's not that easy because it's hard to find a safe pace that enables you to stay concentrated. We were helped by the fact that our Citroen C2 Super 1600 ran like clockwork and also by the excellent work of everyone at PH Sport. I'm still a bit wary going into the final leg, though: a lot can still happen--"
