Aiming for a finish on Catalunya debutNorwegian 18 year old Andreas Mikkselsen and his co-driver Ola Fløene are looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of their Ford Focus WRC 05 and taking on the technical challenge of the tarmac roads of Rally Catalunya this
weekend.
Their last WRC event was Rallye Deutschland which took place six weeks ago, and an accident cut short their only event since which was the Norwegian championship round Rally Larvik. Consequently both are itching to get back on the roads and Catalunya, their fourth WRC event of 2007, is an exciting prospect.
Andreas Mikkselsen said, “I've driven a lot of asphalt rallies in Ireland and Britain so I'm feeling kind of comfortable about Catalunya and really excited to get back behind the wheel. I must admit I haven't been to Rally Catalunya before even as a spectator, so the recce, shakedown and every stage of the route will be treated as a learning experience for me.
”
“Our only goal apart from learning and getting some more miles - is to get to the end. We won't be thinking too much about stage times as we've had incidents in the last couple of events so this time it's just important to take it nice and steady and finish the rally.”
Andreas Mikkelsen and co-driver Ola Fløene are participating in eight WRC events in 2007. Rally Norway, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Finland, Rally Catalunya, Rallye de France, Rally Ireland and Rally GB.
They have also participated in several rounds of the Irish Rally Championship and one Norwegian national rally this season.
