Winners present the team's new one-time lookToday the OMV Move & Help car of Manfred Stohl and Ilka Minor was officially presented by the four young winners from Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
The creativity of Anja, Radomir, Jaromir and Norbert had already
been confirmed by the final design, but at the press conference the four youngsters also took care of good vibes and left drivers and crews smiling.
Everything was discussed in great detail – the part of OMV Move & Help, Little Angel and Little Devil, the girl of the OMV Team and the super spoiler of the Citroen Xsara WRC. And the kids are certain that either
Sebastien Loeb or the OMV Team will win the tenth run to the FIA World Rally Championship, this week-end's Rally Germany.
"I like the OMV Move & Help car because it is great looking and fast, not to mention that it has a super spoiler," said ten-year-old Norbert Seitlunger from the SOS Children's Village in Imst, Austria, getting right to the point.
He also explained his element of design: "Little Devil sometimes has the car stray from the right course – after all, that is part of rallying. But Little Angel is constantly watching and takes care that the car will always land on its tyres so that Manfred and Ilka can go on."
Nine-year-old Radomir Wisnar from the Czech Republic especially likes the fact that one co-driver of the OMV Team is a girl, Ilka Minor.
His brother Jaromir, two years younger, plans to become a rally driver – but body builder or stock exchange operator are options too, of course.
Asked who would win the tenth run to the FIA World Rally Championship, the brothers from Strambek said unanimously: "
Sebastien Loeb or Manfred Stohl with the OMV Move & Help Design, the others don't stand a chance."
Design-winner Anja Beer from Germany proved that she is a true rally pro. Gravel, tarmac, Grönholm, special stages, WRC-points, privateers or works teams – no problem for the twelve-year-old.
Despite visiting this WRC-run for the third time already, Anja wa still enthused: "To get to know Manfred Stohl and Ilka Minor personally and visit the OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team, well, that can't be compared to just being a visitor."
"There is so much lovingly applied detail in this design. The children have created a truly beautiful car. I'll be sure to drive like the devil while Little Angel and Ilka will help me to reach the finish ramp. It is a great joy to have such young fans, not to mention that it boosts my motivation," said OMV driver Manfred Stohl.
Over 240 children from 14 nations (Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, France, Pakistan, Iran, USA, Japan, Italy, Argentina, Bulgaria and France) took part in the design competition in aid of Move & Help, the educational program run by OMV. The designs for the car for Germany ranged from a flower meadow over a camel in the desert to a highway that encompasses the whole car.
After a jury decided on the best three designs, these were offered to internet voting with Anja Beer coming out the winner. In a most generous move, she requested that the other finalists also have their place on the car. All three designs have been reunited and applied to the OMV Kronos Citroën car to be driven by Manfred Stohl and Ilka Minor in Rally Germany.
During the 2007 season, the drivers of the OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team are involved in the international educational program OMV Move & Help. Each completed special stage kilometre is worth EUR 20 and benefits the OMV partners Caritas, SOS Children's Village, and UNICEF. The money is used to support educational programs – including road safety – for over 35,000 children and youths in Europe and Pakistan.
