In the Mid-Wales Historic RallyStobart Motorsport had an exciting weekend with victory for its Historic crew in Wales.
Rally legend Jimmy McRae and Kirkby Stephen co-driver Andy Richardson took overall honours on the Mid-Wales Historic Rally in their Prepfab-prepared
Stobart Motorsport Mk2 Escort RS1800.
This was their first overall win in this year's British Historic Rally Championship and they did it in style, winning all ten of the competitive tests that made up the demanding event.
This now catapults the crew into second position in the overall series standings.
Richardson commented, "We really didn't expect to win this one as there were many local drivers entered who are very talented and have good knowledge of the stages. We started off quite cautiously but then set some impressive times on the classic Hafren and Sweet Lamb stages to set us up for the win. The car ran faultlessly throughout the rally and Jimmy was driving to his usual high standard."
Also running on the Mid-Wales Stages was Appleby teenager Kris Hall.
The 17-year-old piloted his Stobart-backed Peugeot 205 to an excellent fourth in class in his first year of competition.
