From the island and elsewhereRally Ireland has launched a drive to recruit motorsport marshals for the penultimate round of the World Rally Championship, which will take place from the 15th-18th of November.
This exciting and historical occasion will be the biggest
sporting event on the island of Ireland this year, and will see up to 150,000 spectators come out to see the best rallying talent in the world take on the challenge of Irish Tarmac.
Motorsport Ireland Chairman John Naylor said: "We are hoping to recruit dedicated and experienced marshals and with such a strong motorsport ethos on the Island we know that people will support and help Rally Ireland deliver the best round of the World Rally Championship. It's also a great opportunity for those new to marshaling to get involved in the sport for the first time."
Rally Ireland clothing will be provided for all marshals, including a unique rally jacket and cap, along with the event programme.
Details on how to apply can be found on the Rally Ireland website at www.rallyireland.org. The organisers also look forward to welcoming marshals from overseas who would like to be involved with the event.
The Chief Marshall for the event is Sligo native Rosemary Walsh, and a team of regional representatives will assist her in building the event team.
