12-year-old German prevails by 56.3% of all votesThe Beer family from Fürth near Nürnberg is delighted. Their 12-year-old daughter Anja won the OMV rally car design competition by taking the finale among the three best entries.
Her motif and two other designs had
already been chosen out of over 240 competitors prior to the final online voting, where she came out ahead by taking 56.3 percent of all votes.
Manfred Stohl will therefore compete in the ADAC Rally Germany aboard the OMV car bearing the design created by Anja. She had already scored the most points at the jury voting, and the following internet voting made it a clear start-finish-victory for the young rally fan.
Her prize will be a visit to the tenth run of the FIA World Rally Championship, the ADAC Rally Germany from August 16 to 19, which naturally also means a visit to the OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team.
Anja has incorporated the 'Move & Help' topic graphically as balloons and chequered colours dominate the design. The extension of the slogan 'Move & Help' on the hood is especially inventive and reads: Manni MOVE faster, Ilka HELP him.
"The suggestions came from the whole family.
I then transfered them into the design," said young Anja. "I've been an absolute rally fan for quite a while and have already visited Rally Germany and several national events. I really like this. Therefore it is a very special honour that Manfred will compete with my design on the car. I am very curious how it will look in reality on the car!"
During the 2007 season, the drivers of the OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team are involved in the international educational program OMV Move & Help. Each completed special stage kilometre is worth EUR 20 and benefits OMV partners Caritas, SOS Children's Village and UNICEF. The money is used to support educational programs – including road safety – for over 35,000 children and youths in Europe and Pakistan.
