Back into his local forestsSheffield-based Wayne Radford is ready to face the Sherwood Forest for the first time since his low-speed roll on the Robin Hood Stages earlier in the year.
Despite this incident Wayne has recently been out in action, taken two class podiums
on his last two events in the Amberguard Security backed Mitsubishi Evo 9.
Wayne is keen to get back out in action in his local forests, admitting that, whilst they have not been kind to him recently, he still enjoys the experience. The DP Designs supported Evo should go well this weekend, with the characteristics of the stages suiting the powerful car.
Wayne recently contested the Severn Valley Rally in Wales, where he scored his third podium in four rounds of the Mitsubishi Evo Cup. This, despite suffering all sorts of mechanical maladies throughout the day, including an ECU problem which saw his throttle sticking open for two stages - making life in the car rather entertaining!
"I know my last visit to Sherwood ended on my roof, but I'm still looking forward to this rally," Wayne said.
"I love the stages and it's really close to home too, so not far to travel afterwards! I just hope all the problems we had on the Severn mean we've used up our quota for bad luck this year!"
The 2007 Rainworth Skoda Dukeries Rally begins Saturday 16 June from Southwell Racecourse at 8:30 am and utilises such famous Sherwood Forest stages as Clipstone, Portland and Rainbow Hill before the cars return to the ceremonial finish in Mansfield at around 4pm in the afternoon.
