Turkey : Istanbul Rally - FinishARKAS Otomotiv Turkish Rally Championship event Istanbul Rally, took place in Istanbul on 9th of June as a one day event. The third round of the championship saw WRC drivers on top as the crews completed 125,55 km long 9 gravel stages. Hakan
Dinc won the event (1:16,18,2) ahead of his team mate Emre Yurdakul, (1:16:40,4) both drivers driving Focus WRC.
LUKOIL driver Ercan Kazaz was the only one to challange the WRC drivers as predicted, where he completed the event third overall, 42,3 seconds behind the leader. (1:17:00,5) Kazaz, has completed the third event of the championship with points once again and he is set to keep his place on top of the leader board.
Ercan Kazaz leads the Group N Championship as well by a slight margin as the Turkish Rally Championship reaches half way. “It's been a trouble free event for us. It is really nice to be on the top with LUKOIL's support as there are 3 WRC cars to deal with. But it is better to have this kind of challange and it is more enjoyable to set competitive times with our Group N Subaru Impreza.” said Kazaz after the event. “We have a one month break now until the next event, we will do our best to keep up the good work to take both Turkish Championship and Group N titles at the end of the season.”
