''It was quite entertaining''Following the end of the Acropolis Rally's first Leg, the top three drivers answered a few questions during an end-of-day press conference.
Q: If I could turn to you first, Marcus... How hard has this morning and today been?
MARCUS
GRÖNHOLM: It's always hard. Few stages were really good but the last one in the evening was really hard but went fine finally.
Q: How nice is it for you to see that two crews from the same team are battling with you so close today?
MG: Well, you see that today 6 drivers are apart by only 11 sec, something that has not happened for a long time. I am really happy for Peter, Chris and Subaru. We will se tomorrow.
Q: Peter, how's today been for you?
PETTER SOLBERG: I'm very pleased to take the 2nd place. Chris has also done an incredible job today and so did all the team, the mechanics and technicians who tried to gather information and details and we are now fighting for the top position. It was a bit surprise for us also to go so well today. Of course we have another two long days to go but we are very pleased with the performance.
Q: How is the feeling with Mikko?
PS: Things are getting better all the time. Both of us are really good and really happy to be back here with Marcus.
Q: Chris, what were the conditions like in the stages today?
CHRIS ATKINSON: It was generally pretty good during the first stages but the last one was a typical Acropolis Rally SS; full of rocks and impacts and it was quite entertaining to try to push the car through there. We'll do our best to keep up on this pace. We are still working hard in order to see if we can keep this position.
Q: What about the long SS tomorrow?
CA: The long stage is going to be tough tomorrow especially during the second passage. With everyone so close pushing so hard is not going to be easy but we'll do our best.
Q: Petter what is your plan for tomorrow?
PS: We hope for a place on the podium first of all tomorrow. We're actually going to take one step at a time and we'll see how it goes. We will certainly try very hard. Being so close to Marcus is very good so we'll do our best.
Q: Marcus, what about you?
MG: I am sure Sebastien will try to push tomorrow so I know it will not be easy.
