Acropolis: OMV Kronos Citroen WRT - Leg 1Even though Manfred Stohl had a faultless first day at the Acropolis Rally, the result is somewhat disappointing. The OMV driver lies in ninth overall place after eight of 21 special stages.
57.6 seconds are missing on a WRC-point,
but the Austrian has some tactics prepared.
Just like two weeks ago in Sardinia he wants to finish the rally without grave problems. Back then he was seventh-placed, a result that doesn't seem impossible to reach in Greece, as well.
"We have to admit that we don't stand much of a chance against the works teams and the Ford World Rally Cars of Latvala and Henning Solberg. But for Saturday two special stages leading over almost 50 kilometres are scheduled. This won't go without problems. Those who have the least hold all the aces. I hope that we will be among the lucky ones," Stohl said.
Thus the OMV Kronos Citroen World Rally Team hasn't given up on scoring points by far.
The second Leg of the Acropolis Rally will lead the drivers over 146.08 timed kilometres on Saturday. Eight special stages are scheduled. Most certainly the criterion will be SS Agii Theodori with a length of 48.88 kilometres which will be completed twice.
The restart will take place in Markopuolo at 7:30.
