Acropolis : OMV BIXXOL Rally Team - PreviewThe OMV BIXXOL Rally Team is represented by one team at the Acropolis Rally of Greece.
Following Sweden this is the second assignment for Slovenian duo Andrej Jereb and Miran Kacin in the FIA Production Car World Rally Championship
this year. And the OMV Team in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, prepared by Stohl-Racing, is aiming high.
Their goal is a place among the top ten in the 22 teams strong P-WRC field.
The next chapter in the WRC adventure has been opened for Andrej Jereb – on familiar territory for the 33-year-old OMV driver.
The Slovenian already competed last year in the probably toughest WRC-run of the whole season. Back then he reached 19th place in group N and had to wrestle with numerous small problems.
This year the five-times national Rally Champion aims much higher.
“It is the first time that I'm competing in a WRC-run not completely new to me," said Jereb. "I learned a lot last year, especially since it was my first gravel run in the FIA World Rally Championship. I expect a very tough rally this weekend since the PCar WRC field is really strong. Whatever – the Rally Acropolis is a gravel roulette, as well. Should I escape technical problems and have as few tyre damages as possible a place among the top-ten is possible – perhaps even scoring points.”
