Cyprus and Poland chase final slotCyprus and Poland remain in contention to grab the 16th and final slot on the 2008 WRC calendar after Zulu Rally South Africa withdrew its bid to host a round of the championship.
"It is with deep regret that we have been forced
to withdraw our World Rally Championship Candidacy from Zulu Rally South Africa," read a statement.
"Regrettably, circumstances beyond our control have given us no option but to take this course of action. Please be assured that we have exhausted every possible avenue to avoid having to make this decision."
Zulu Rally South Africa will however continue to run as a round of both the South African National Rally Championship and the FIA African Rally Championship (ARC).
