Sardinia: Subaru World Rally Team - Shakedown
The Subaru World Rally Team spent Thursday making final preparations before the competitive action of Rally Sardegna begins on Friday morning.

Between 0800hrs and 1200hrs Solberg and Atkinson took part in the pre-event
shakedown test on a new 2.9km stretch of road in Monte Plebi, 10km north of the service area in Olbia.

"The stage was smoother than we expect the ones on the rally to be, but it was a good shakedown and Petter and Chris completed four runs each," said Subaru World Rally Team operations director Paul Howarth. "Both drivers have got a comfortable base set up for the rally now, and we're ready for the start."

Howarth was also pleased that the weather conditions looked good for the event: "Our preference would be for a dry weekend, so it's good to see that the forecast wet weather seems to have been blown off course. The current warm and stable conditions are ideal."

At 2000hrs, after a series of press conferences and media interviews in the afternoon, drivers headed to the Marina Veccia in Porto Cervo for the ceremonial start.

Leg one begins from Olbia on Friday at 0830hrs (local) with SS1 starting at 0943hrs.
