For the sport, for the causeThe third event of the Gravel Rally Championship in Great Britain will be held on the Isle of Man, 11 and 12 May, when the Manx Rally takes place.
At the wheel of his two-wheel drive Ford Escort MKII, 1995 World Rally Champion Colin McRae
will be actively taking part in the event, accompanied by his co-driver Campbell Roy.
John Skinner, Clerk of the Course of the Manx Rally, is very enthused about McRae's participation in this competition. "Obviously we're delighted to see Colin on the Isle of Man," he said.
But apart from sporting considerations, McCrae's presence will have something else to promote.
"He has been involved in a campaign to raise awareness of organ donation," added Skinner. "We, as an event, support The Liver Foundation Trust and I'm sure his appearance can only do the cause a great deal of good."
