At the UAE Desert Challenge
With 115 drivers and riders from 30 countries going into action, Sunday's super special stage of the UAE Desert Challenge gets under way at 4pm off Al Wasl Road in Umm Sequeim, near Dubai Police College.
The centre of attraction tomorrow
(Saturday) will be China Court, in Dubai's Ibn Battuta Mall, where the public can see the impressive collection of rally cars, trucks and bikes go through the official scrutineering checks from 9am to 5pm.
The official start sends all the cars, bikes and trucks away from the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi at 9.30am on Monday for a five-day, 2,443-km passage eventually leading to the finish at Dubai International Marine Club at 4.30pm next Friday (10th November).
Most of the action takes place among the desert plains and huge dunes of the Empty Quarter, with the route centred on the bivouac at Moreeb Hill, near Liwa.
