Quite a ride it is at the Dakar
Nothing so far has been able to stop the all-women crew of the #443 entry: Florence Migraine-Bourgnon and Clémence Joyeux are still in the Dakar Rally game but it is proving to be quite an effort!
Everyone participating in the event
easily recognises their big white Toyota as it crosses the deserts and dunes, especially with such an apparently always-smiling crew at the controls. Driving at their own pace, day and night, they always bring their machine home.
"We're there every night in the bivouac while everyone else is sleeping and with the electrical generators working at maximum," related Migraine-Bourgnon.
"Several times we left around noon and finished around three or four in the morning," she continued. "I no longer count the hours we've spent in our Toyota's cabin..."
Despite all the spent energy and tiredness, Florence Migraine-Bourgnon's rally spirit remains intact as ever: "The important thing is to keep moving forward and to not give up the race, even if we're close to last."
Migraine-Bourgnon and co-driver Joyeux therefore continue to push ahead, even if they take on the stages while clenching their teeth - "and the steering wheel, too" quickly added the French driver.
"On this rally, you really have to hang on!"
