Rally dates: 23 April to 4 May, 2008As one of the major event of FIA World Cup for Cross-country Rallies, and a major event of the FIM World Championship for Cross-Country Rallies, the Optic 2000 Tunisia Rally, 2008 will certainly be a memorable occasion.
In order
to satisfy the demands of the increasingly large numbers of competitors, the 2008 event will be routed through Libya ....
The whole NPO team is working on this extension of the rally, with the co-operation of all of the local authorities in the countries in question, to arrange a stage through the Libyan Desert.
This exciting development will introduce new difficulties for the riders to cope with, varying the landscape and increasing the intensity of the sport, especially in the marathon-type stages.
The whole of the new arrangements will be unveiled at the NPO press conference to be held on 18 January in Press club de France, Paris
