First day of testing at SepangYesterday's first MotoGP session in Sepang signaled the start of the 2007 preseason, as a part of a test set to last until Wednesday.
Every team apart from Ilmor have headed the Malaysian circuit to continue the development of their
800cc bikes, all with the hope of arriving in Qatar for the first race of the season in peak condition.
Honda LCR Team Spanish rider Carlos Checa is still working on the development of his RC212V under the watchful eye of his Technical Director Ramon Forcada and the Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello.
The Spaniard no. 7 did 56 laps in total with a best lap time of 2'04.10.
Checa: “We have a clear plan regarding the development of the new bike for the following days. Today we concentrated on the chassis set up including the clutch, the engine brake etc… Honestly the feeling is not at 100% yet but we are working hard together with HRC technicians to adapt to the new bike. Tomorrow we will focus our work on the tyres choice putting more miles on the bike. Basically I am not interested in the fastest lap now because firstly we must fit the bike at 100% to become more competitive”.
