Team Yamaha Lorenzini, Team Honda Megabike and Ducati Junior Team have all been testing
for three days at Spain's Cartagena circuit. Despite unfavourable weather conditions, some quite interesting results were achieved.
The fastest of the Supersport riders was Katsuaki Fujiwara on Honda, who stopped the chronometer at 1 minute 36.8 seconds. Massimo Roccoli on Yamaha lapped only four tenths of a second slower while Lorenzo Alfonsi, on his first outing for Team Megabike, recorded an encouraging 1 m 37.8 s.
The best result in SST 1000 came from Claudio Corti on Yamaha, with his new team mate Michele Pirro doing well too with a best lap only half a second slower. The new Ducati was at Cartagena too, ridden by Domenico Colucci. The new bike wasted no time in proving how competitive it is going to be, recording a best lap of 1 m 38.5 s.
Lorenzo Baroni and his Ducati 749 SST were another first time pair and registered an impressive best lap of 1 m 38.5 s.
