+ 40 % at Valencia this year!Interest in the SBK World Championship is still growing. Thanks to exciting races and great personalities, spectator numbers have rocketed at SBK championship circuits.
This year has seen a 6% increase in spectator numbers over 2005,
with total attendance up from 721,500 to 765,900. These impressive figures are consolidating SBK's place as one of the world's great motor racing spectator sports. Attendance figures are up at every circuit visited by the championship, with the sole exception of Assen, where numbers are slightly down due the bad weather conditions.
The circuits that have seen the most impressive rises are Valencia with + 40% and Brno with + 32% . SBK has been a top attraction at both tracks. Even at Monza, where attendance is consistently high, SBK drew in nearly 100,000 visitors.
The prize for the biggest crowd of the season is held this year again by Brands Hatch, which saw an increase 6% in attendance, attracting 115,000 spectators compared with 108,000 in 2005.
