British new comer in 250cc LCR TeamWith the testing ban having been implemented after the final day of the Jerez test at the end of November, fans have yet to see the LCR Honda 250cc team in action. However, MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty will make his debut just two days
after the ban is lifted, testing at the Spanish Circuit on January 22nd through to the 24th with his new team.
The former British Superbike rider will be riding a kit Honda provided for Lucio Cecchinello's new quarter litre class outfit, and there are high hopes for the Northern Irish youngster in his debut season.
With Chaz Davies and James Ellison both signing on with AMA Superbike teams for 2007, and doubts over whether or not Jeremy McWilliams will be confirmed as part of Ilmor's lineup for the coming season, British fans' realistic hopes for success lie in the hands of Laverty and 125cc rider Bradley Smith.
Whilst the 250cc team are testing in Jerez, LCR Honda's Carlos Checa will be across the other side of the world, at the MotoGP Sepang test.
