It goes to show what a small world it is
After a ten year period of separation, Ramon Forcada and Carlos Checa were reunited as a mechanic-rider partnership last week.
With Forcada continuing with the LCR Honda team, Checa's arrival signals the start of a new chapter
in both Spaniards' careers.
“We were pretty close to working together again last season for Honda Pons, but we all know the problems that arose there. After ten year's apart, it just goes to show what a small world it is”, commented Forcada after working with Checa at the Malaysian circuit.
“Carlos has matured a lot, he's more professional now. He is definitely a more concentrated rider, and he knows what we need to find out from him in order to help his riding, and how to explain it better”, concluded the experienced mechanic, who was subject to speculation about a possible move to World Superbikes as mechanic to recent MotoGP returnee Alex Barros.
