"It is like having Christmas in November"
Carlos Checa, who made the switch from Yamaha Tech3 Dunlop to Honda LCR Michelin at the end of the season, is eager to start working with his new team.
The Spaniard flew to Malaysia where he'll be testing, amongst other MotoGP
riders, from Wednesday to Friday.
The field usually goes on holidays right after the post-GP Valencia test but benefits this year from two extra sessions in order to allow the teams to get more development done on their brand new 800cc bikes.
All the riders on duty at Sepang will share the same goal : getting to grips with their new machines and working as much as possible on the setup before the winter break.
“From November 15 at Sepang Circuit will start my new challenge as a rider of the premier class and I'm very excited about this”, said Carlos on his personal website. “I want to start riding the RC212V Honda with Michelin tires and adapt my riding to the requirements of the new 800cc bike.”
“I'm also excited about the fact of working with Ramon Forcada. We are very good friends and being in the box with him will be very important for the daily work.
Lucio Cecchinello is also a great friend and riding for his team gives me a high motivation.”
“For me it is like having Christmas in November, and the new bike and team are the best possible presents”, he concluded.
