Thanks to Hiro Aoyama
Red Bull KTM GP 250 rider Hiroshi Aoyama once more delivered a convincing performance on the KTM FRR 250.
The congenial Japanese was fastest in the first qualifying session then underlined his excellent performance in the second session by putting
in the best ever lap time for the circuit.
Hiroshi celebrates his 25th birthday on Wednesday but he plans to celebrate on Sunday and do it in style.
The KTM rider has again raised the bar and wants to wind up the season for the KTM FRR 250 with a third place in the overall standings in the 250 cc class.
To achieve this he has to make up 10 points on Alex De Angelis. It's a tough job but not completely unrealistic.
Hiroshi Aoyama with his Red Bull KTM GP 250 team has achieved seven podium places including two victories, four thirds and a second place so far.
Team colleague Manuel Poggiali starts the 27 lap race from the third row and place 11 on the grid.
Hiroshi Aoyama #4 Red Bull KTM GP 250 – Pole Position – 1'35.109
“I have liked this track from the moment I started to get to know it. We've been working very hard on chassis over the weekend. It was difficult, but it worked out well and so the pole position was possible. It is the first pole position for my Red Bull KTM team and my fourth since I've been racing 250cc.
For tomorrow I'm looking forward to trying to achieve a good result for the last race of the season to thank KTM, my team and our partners for all their effort and support. That would be good. But qualifying and racing is always something different. You never know what will happen. But I'm confident because we also made different tests with our Dunlops and I believe we have found some good tires for tomorrow's race.”
