For next season
The GP of Japan is, of course, the most important event of the season for Yuki Takahashi, who announces his programs for next year at Motegi. After two years of the Honda schooling inside the Humangest Racing Team, the management of the Italian team is very
satisfied with the Japanese rider's progress.
In the first season, Yuki had to get to know both the team and the MotoGP circuits, while this season he has shown to be a winner by clinching two GPs so far, the first at Le Mans in front of his team-mate Andrea Dovizioso and the second at the Sachsenring circuit, after an incredible recovery and photo-finish arrival with De Angelis.
So, he showed to have great skills and to be able to build a good relationship with the team, and for these reasons the Humangest Racing Team management took the decision to renew the contract with the Japanese rider, who will definitely be one of the MotoGP stars of the future.
Cirano Mularoni – Humangest Racing Team Manager: "Yuki Takahashi's results so far on the Humangest Racing Team Honda RSW confirmed to the team and the sponsors to renew our contract with him for 2007. Yuki is a very competitive rider who has made notable progress since last year. Also, he was able to build up a good relationship with the team. We are very happy to have reached an agreement with Yuki and we are convinced that he will get even more prestigious results in 2007 than this year."
Yuki Takahashi #55 – rider: "I have been contacted by many teams for next year, even MotoGP teams, but I believe it's too early for me. After finishing the two-years of Honda schooling, my priority was to stay in Honda and ride an official bike.
Before going to Malaysia I didn't know anything about my future, and when I had the meeting with the Humangest Racing Team managers at Sepang, I was very happy to receive from them the one-year renewal of my contract as I really enjoy racing in this team. This has been a difficult year for me, especially after my crash at Suzuka; I improved a lot since last year, I was able to adapt to the bike and I changed my riding style trying not to lean too much from the bike. In this way, I was able to be more competitive, but still I know I have some room to improve. I'm very content about the relationship I have with my team and with my team-mate Andrea Dovizioso, who I hope will stay with us also next year. I'm also satisfied with the HRC support in these two years, but now I have to stand on my own feet and I'm proud to have signed the contract for next year. I want to thank Honda, HRC, the sponsor of the team and all the people who stayed close to me and for helping me. Thanks a lot!"
Mr Satoru Horiike – Managing Director HRC: "HRC are very pleased with Takahashi sans performances since he won the 2004 Honda Racing Scholarship and entered grand prix racing. We would also like to thank the Humangest Racing Team for the help and support they have given Yuki to further improve his racing skills during the two years he has been with the team. We thank both the team and Yuki for all their hard work on behalf of HRC and wish them success for the remaining races this season and for a successful 2007."
