Capirossi starts fastest in Malaysia
Sepang : MotoGP - Day 1
Winner of the last GP in Brno, Loris Capirossi headed the timesheets this morning, in the first free practice session of the Malaysian Grand Prix, at Sepang.
This afternoon, in the second session, the Ducati rider knocked more than one second off
his morning time to continue one step ahead of the pack.

The Italian star carried on from his Brno masterclass on day one with a 2'01.711 lap, ahead of Dani Pedrosa in second. The Repsol Honda rookie suffered a crash during the second session, although without serious consequences.

Third place went to Kenny Roberts Jr, ahead of countryman John Hopkins and last year's 250cc race winner Casey Stoner. Makoto Tamada rounded off the top six ahead of Valentino Rossi, a second off Capirossi's flying lap.

The returning Sete Gibernau was eighth, with Marco Melandri and Shinya Nakano completing the fastest ten.
Nicky Hayden, leader of the championship, set the tenth best time this afternoon and concluded the day in eleventh position.
