M2: Qatari GP: Interwetten Honda qualifying report
TOM LUTHI STARTS FIRST GRAND PRIX FROM 16

Even though the Swiss Tom Luthi could improve on the second day of the Commercialbank Grand Prix of Qatar, it ended similar as the first day, because of the technical problems with the engine the team had yesterday. Luthi had to do
some test work today and this did cost him too much time. During the second free practice Luthi suffered some problems with the rear brake. Not that it would have been enough that the brake was pinning, it also went on fire and Luthi lost some precious time. Despite of the problems during the first session he could improve his time though. The Swiss will start the Grand Prix tomorrow from 16th position.

Tom Luthi, 2'03.041 -- 16:

The free practice started off quite well. Then the rear brake started burning and I lost time. At the end I was faster again and it looked well for me. But this fast times I had in the last couple of laps and it didn't help me.

At the qualifying I started with a good time and was in the group of the front riders. But we are missing the first day of practice as we had those engine problems yesterday. I wanted to try more tyres today, but we simply did not have the time. The starting point for the race is just too far off the pace.

Terrell Thien, Team Manager:

As Tom said, we did not have enough test time. We could improve from free practice to qualifying, but we are not satisfied with the result. We have to try a lot of things for tomorrow's race during the warm up. We have to find a good tyre for example. I just hope this will not cost us too much time again.
