“I'm looking forward to riding the new bike”
After the Christmas break the Honda LCR Team is back at work to start the 2008 racing season in the best way.
A new winter tests session will engage the MotoGP riders till the end of February before the first GP in Qatar
on the 9th of March. Specifically Randy De Puniet and his staff will fly to Malaysia shortly for a three-day test at Sepang track (22,23 and 24 of January) followed by another test session in Phillip Island (Australia) on the 30, 31 of January and the 1st of February.
The Official Pre Season tests will take place in Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) on the 16,17 and 18 of February followed by three-day test at Doha (Qatar) on the 28, 29 and 30 of March.
These two months will be very exacting for Randy who will proceed his development job on his Honda RC212V fitted out with Michelin tyres. Starting from the next tests at Sepang track, the French rider will ride the new bike (2008 chassis) whilst the engines will be ready for Jerez tests.
“This break was necessary to relax a bit!”, commented De Puniet. “ The MotoGP Championship is very full and the Christmas celebration give us the chance to spend some time with our families and our friends.
Anyway I am looking forward to riding the new bike even if the 2008 engines will be ready for Jerez tests. Basically we will proceed with our development job together with HCR, Michelin and Öhlins technicians in order to get a competitive set-up for the first race of the season at Doha”.
