Valencia : 125cc race
A superb ride into second place from Gabor Talmacsi at the Gran Premio bwin.com de la Comunitat Valenciana saw him clinch the 125cc title to become the first Hungarian rider to win a World Championship, but his Bancaja Aspar team-mate Hector Faubel
kept the pressure on right up until the final corner.
The race was won by Faubel who tried to force Talmacsi into an error as the pair battled for the lead throughout the 24 lap contest, with the Spaniard needing Talmacsi to finish fourth or below if he was to snatch the title.
However Talmacsi stood firm to cross the line second and finish the season five points ahead of his Spanish colleague and earn the 125cc crown. On a great day for Aspar they filled the podium as Sergio Gadea crossed the line third.
A relatively close top five was completed by two men who have won Grands Prix this season, Mattia Pasini (Polaris World) and Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi), though in truth they could not quite get close enough to have any affect on the title battle.
The top ten was completed by Esteve Rabat (Repsol Honda), Pablo Nieto (Blusens Aprilia), Bradley Smith (Repsol Honda), Tomoyoshi Koyama (Red Bull KTM) and Pol Espargaro (Belson Campetella Aprilia).
