Great battle sees Pesek emerge victorious
Phillip Island : 125cc race
The 125cc action at the GMC Australian Grand Prix concluded with Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) taking his second victory of the season after a tremendous battle involving ten riders fighting for the lead at Phillip Island.

Pesek's
winning margin was just 0.090s, with only 0.915s separating the front five and nine riders crossing the finishing line within a second and a half of the race winner.

The single cylinder race got underway at midday local time in cool, clear and calm conditions in contrast to the unstable weather which characterised Friday and Saturday's proceedings.

The Australian fans were treated to a fantastic 125 contest, with Pesek securing the win on the final straight having started third on the grid.

Joan Olive (Polaris World) finished just behind the Czech rider, while Hector Faubel (Bancaja Aspar) took the final podium spot to close within a point of his team-mate Gabor Talmacsi in the general standings as the World Championship leader came home in eighth position.

Simone Corsi (Skilled Racing Team) was fourth, just ahead of Esteve Rabat (Repsol Honda) who had a great race from 11th on the grid.
Tomoyoshi Koyama (Red Bull KTM) was sixth and Mattia Pasini (Polaris World) seventh, with Talmacsi eighth, and Bancaja Aspar's Sergio Gadea and Sandro Cortese (Emmi Caffe Latte) rounding off the top ten.
