For Pramac d'Antin
In a move widely expected after Alex Hofmann's parting of ways with Pramac d'Antin Ducati, the satellite team have announced the signing of British rider Chaz Davies for the remaining three races of the 2007 season.
Davies competed for Luis d'Antin's
team at Laguna Seca in late July, standing in for Hofmann when the German was ruled out of all but the first free practice session due to a hand injury.
Impressing sufficiently on his first outing with a MotoGP bike, and in a subsequent test at Mugello alongside the Ducati test team, the Briton had been in the frame for another appearance at Motegi, although an arm infection meant that Shinichi Itoh would get the nod instead.
The first race of the scheduled three comes at Phillip Island in under two weeks time.
"I am very excited to have another oppotunity to race in MotoGP with Pramac D'Antin. I am also very grateful to the team and Ducati for giving me this oppotunity”, stated Davies after confirmation of the deal.
“Phillip Island has been kind to me in the past with the 250cc so I hope this will transfer onto the MotoGP bike although I expect to have to learn many more things. Of course I will try my best and I hope to have a lot of fun!"
