Brno : 125cc – Day Two
Talmacsi secures fourth pole of the seasonHungarian Bancaja Aspar rider Gabor Talmacsi, the current World Championship leader, took his fourth pole of the season at Brno this afternoon and will go in search of his third victory of 2007 on Sunday at
the Cardion ab Grand Prix Ceske republiky.
There will be plenty of support for the Eastern European 125cc World title candidate in tomorrow's race, and he will get away from the head of the grid thanks to a qualifying performance which saw him take the top slot by more than half a second from Aspar team-mate and championship rival Hector Faubel.
Third quickest participant Mattia Pasini (Polaris World) was just 0.027s slower than Faubel, while the front row of the grid was completed by Tomoyoshi Koyama (Red Bull KTM) – though the Japanese rider was a sizeable 1.294s off Talmacsi's pace.
Home rider Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) suffered a nasty high-side crash mid-way through the session and will be disappointed to have ended up fifth having taking provisional pole yesterday.
The popular Czech is joined on the second row of the grid by Randy Krummenacher (Red Bull KTM) – who also high-sided late in the outing - Bancaja Aspar's Sergio Gadea and Sandro Cortese (Emmi Caffe Latte).
The top ten also features Spanish pair Pablo Nieto (Blusens Aprilia) and Pol Espargaro (Belson Campetella).
