At rainy Donington
Current 125cc World Championship leader Gabor Talmacsi is the man on provisional pole after the first day of single cylinder action in rainy Leicestershire at Donington Park.
Some intermittent summer showers have hindered the riders on the opening
day of action at the Nickel & Dime British Grand Prix, slowing the pace and causing several crashes, but Talmacsi has used all his experience to top the timesheets in both Friday 125cc sessions.
The were several riders who hit the asphalt due to the slippery conditions including Talmacsi's title rival Lukas Pesek (Valsir Seedorf Derbi) who in fact crashed twice, along with Dominique Aegeter (Multimedia Racing), Randy Krummenacher (Red Bull KTM), Mattia Pasini (Polaris World), Michael Ranseder (Ajo Motorsport), Federico Sandi (Skilled Racing Team), Lorenzo Zanetti (Team Sicilia) and British KRP wildcard Nikki Coates.
But it was Hungarian Bancaja Aspar who took provisional pole by just 0.069s ahead of team-mate Hector Faubel with a lap of 1'55.921s, while Mike de Meglio (Kopron Team Scot) and Simone Corsi (Skilled Racing Team) were third and fourth respectively.
The provisional second row features Krummenacher and his team-mate Tomoyoshi Koyama, Sergio Gadea (Bancaja Aspar) and Joan Olive (Polaris World).
