Catalunya : 125cc – Day TwoAn excellent 125cc second qualifying session for Bancaja Aspar saw their trio of riders secure the front three starting places on the grid for tomorrow's seventh race of the 2007 season at the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya.
On pole position
is the man currently sitting second in the general classification, Gabor Talmacsi, who qualified ahead of team-mate and 125 World Championship leader Hector Faubel by 0.324s with a superb new circuit best lap of 1'50.012s.
Just behind his Asapar colleagues on the grid is Sergio Gadea, finishing with a time 0.517s slower than Talmacsi's hot lap. Gadea therefore starts in third place, the position in which he finished last year's race, behind second placed Faubel and their former team-mate Alvaro Bautista who took victory.
Completing tomorrow's front row is Repsol Honda's teenage English starlet Bradley Smith who qualifies in his second best position of the year – and for that matter his career. Smith aims for his second ever podium this weekend at the track which is regarded his second home venue given his considerable Montmelo experience.
Meanwhile, lining up on the second row of the grid will be Valsir Seedorf Derbi's Lukas Pesek, Multimedia Racing's Raffaele de Rosa, Red Bull KTM's Tomoyoshi Koyama and Polaris World's Mattia Pasini.
