Talmacsi sets new Le Mans record
To earn provisional 125cc pole
The first qualifying practice of the Alice Grand Prix de France weekend saw Gabor Talmacsi of Bancaja Aspar take provisional pole for Sunday's 125cc race with a circuit best lap of 1'44.408s.

The 25 year-old Hungarian rider set the
new record on the 11th of his 12 laps in the 30 minute session, to put him ahead of second quickest participant Mattia Pasini of Polaris World by 0.101s.

Another solid performance saw English youngster Bradley Smith lap 0.740s behind Talmacsi – the teenager from Oxfordshire seemingly finding greater pace from his Honda machinery with every track appearance. The provisional front row was completed by Spaniard Hector Faubel of Bancaja Aspar, 0.920s off the pace.

The provisional second row comprises Valsir Seedorf Derbi's Lukas Pesek, Skilled Racing Team's Simone Corsi, Red Bull KTM 125's Tomoyoshi Koyama and Kopron Team Scot's Mike de Meglio.

Spanish pair Esteve Rabat (15th fastest) and Pol Espargaro (22nd) had their sessions hampered by the same multiple collision which also involved French wildcard Valentin Debise of Equipe de France Espoir. No serious injuries are reported at this stage, but updates will follow shortly.
