Zonta impresses before gearbox problem
Toyota had an encouraging start to the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend in Sakhir today with Ricardo Zonta topping the opening practice session and ending up second quickest of the day, whilst both race drivers Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher were both inside the top ten in second practice.

Jordan Grand Prix drivers Narain Karthikeyan, Tiago Monteiro and Robert Doornbos began the weekend with a smooth-running Free Practice day today with no mechanical problems or damage to their cars at the demanding 5.417-km Bahrain International Circuit.

Routine running for Renault
Renault completed a successful opening day in Bahrain. Both Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella completed their programmes without incident, and the team will now work through the evening to make their tyre choice for the rest of the race weekend.

Barrichello keeps faith in Bridgestone
Rubens Barrichello has had a busy time since the Malaysian Grand Prix. First, he returned to Europe to make his much awaited debut last Tuesday at the wheel of the F2005. Red Bull complete two day Barcelona test
Neel Jani and Scott Speed tested in Barcelona on Wednesday and Thursday, with the two Red Bull Junior drivers taking turns at the wheel. The Swiss and the American are both competing in this year's new GP2 series, with the first race taking place at Imola during the San Marino Grand Prix weekend at the end of April.

Schumacher happy to race the F2005
Along with Rubens Barrichello's words of optimism, Michael Schumacher has also expressed his satisfaction at the decision taken by Ferrari to field the F2005 at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
